Genealogy
All birth and death certificates in the state of Nebraska are on file at the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, Vital Records Division. Birth and death certificates are not in the County Clerks’ records.

The marriage certificates are issued by the County Clerk who maintains copies in his/her office. You may purchase a certified or non-certified copy of a marriage license from the County Clerk. A certified copy is $9.00 (statewide) and a non-certified copy from the Red Willow County Clerk is $1.00.
Non-official records in local newspapers such as birth notices, marriage write-ups, obituaries, and some burial records are on microfilm at the Nebraska Historical Society. The phone number is 1(800) 833-6747 and the e-mail address is lanshs@nebraskahistory.org.
